Follow your North Star. It will guide you Home!

You’ve heard that expression “Follow your North Star,” or the question “What’s your North Star?

Sailors used to use the North Star to navigate home, like using a compass. The North Star is called that because it sits almost exactly above the North Pole and is also known as the Pole Star, or Polaris. It is famous for holding nearly still in our sky while the entire northern sky moves around it.

As a side note, it just so happens that stars are one of my favorite things – I’ve been doodling them since I was a child. 

My North Star

My North Star is a guiding energy that keeps me aligned and moving toward my greatest desires and dreams. 

My North Star is a feeling – it’s everything beautiful, joyful, kind, magical, and conscious, both within and without. For me, it’s more of a vibration. I’ve always known that what guides me are just those things: beauty, joy, kindness, magical things, and consciousness. These things inspire me deeply.

As a child, I spent countless hours looking up at the sky so curious – wondering. As I grew older, I sought out the beauty & joy in life and aspired to offer this in whatever I did, wherever I was, and with whomever I was with.

Of course, I fall short at times, however, that’s what your North Star is there for … to guide you back home—to stay on course with those things most important to you. Allow it to guide your choices and adventures. It will not fail you. It is your deepest knowings that bring you the greatest joy and fulfillment in your life.

Finding Your North Star

If you need clarity in determining what your North Star is, dive deep inside… what brings you the greatest joy, what you are drawn to, and what you love doing or being.

Unlike the North Star in the sky, your North Star doesn’t have to remain relatively fixed. It may change as you grow, become more refined, and truly become that energy that guides you toward your greatest dreams and desires.

Allow it to guide you home!

When I look up into the evening sky, I know and feel there are benevolent and majestic powers that are contributing to me constantly and guiding me home…. guiding me home to do that which I came here to do and allow that to unfold as I journey along this one magnificent path of living.

I’m very grateful for my North Star and how it has guided me thus far. When you know the energies that are important to you, the universe will conspire to bring them to you.

I’m always asking the energies that create worlds—the universe, God, whatever you call it—to please show me what I can do to add more of those energies to the world.

More joy.

More beauty.

More magic.

More kindness.

More consciousness.

My North Star & Photography

My North Star led me to photography. I always loved capturing the play of light in nature, the magical moments between people, and the whispers of beauty and joy that can be found everywhere if we only look and listen. The kindness, the connection, and those fleeting moments that photos can turn into memories that last forever.

Then I discovered and studied brand photography, which truly lit me up. I’ve always believed that if everyone were doing what they loved, ie following their true North Star, the world would be much happier. Brand photography lets me shine the light on the true magic and joy entrepreneurs and business owners offer daily to their clients and customers. 

Spending time with my clients and weaving together their amazing, one-of-a-kind stories with photos that capture the heart of them and their brand and elevate their business is an honor. Presenting them with a gallery of photos they can use to attract the clients and customers they are so ready to serve.. how does it get any better? 

I’m so very grateful for this journey even though only beginning. I have my entire life ahead. It’s never too late to chart a new course or begin a new adventure. Follow your heart, your North Star.. it will guide you home.
